Rob Burrow Award Debuts at Super League Final

The inaugural Rob Burrow Award, honoring the late Leeds Rhinos legend, will be presented at the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford, where Wigan Warriors will face Hull KR. Burrow, who passed away in June from motor neurone disease, is celebrated for both his illustrious rugby career and his advocacy for MND awareness, raising over £6 million for related charities. The award will be presented by his father, Geoff Burrow, and it replaces the Harry Sunderland Trophy previously awarded to the match's standout player. The winner will be selected by members of the Rugby League Writers and Broadcasters’ Association (RLWBA) in attendance. Burrow won the Harry Sunderland Trophy twice during his career and was also recognized with an MBE for his contributions to rugby and MND advocacy. His family, including his wife and children, will be present at the event, making it a poignant tribute to his legacy.
