Cadence Expands Multi-Year IP Deal With Samsung Foundry Across Advanced Nodes
Cadence Design Systems has expanded its multi-year collaboration with Samsung Foundry through a new intellectual property agreement focused on AI data centers, automotive applications including advanced driver-assistance systems, and next-generation RF connectivity. The partnership enhances technology scaling and IP reuse by leveraging Cadence’s AI-driven design solutions alongside Samsung’s advanced SF4X, SF5A, and SF2P process nodes. The expanded SF4X IP portfolio includes advanced memory and interface technologies such as LPDDR6/5x, GDDR7, DDR5, PCI Express 6.0, and Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express, targeting high-performance computing and automotive sectors. Cadence’s full digital flow has been certified for Samsung’s latest SF2P process node, supporting Samsung’s Hyper Cell methodology and Local Layout Effect timing accuracy, ensuring efficient signoff and runtime for mutual customers. Additionally, the companies have automated the migration of analog cell-based 4nm IP to the 2nm process node, accelerating turnaround times and enabling efficient IP reuse. Executives from both companies emphasized that the collaboration is delivering leading-edge technologies to help customers innovate and bring products to market faster.
