Microsoft Launches AI Agents for Copilot Platform

Microsoft is set to enhance its AI-driven Copilot platform with new autonomous agent capabilities aimed at transforming business processes. The public preview of these agents in Copilot Studio will launch next month, allowing businesses to create custom agents to automate various tasks such as sales lead generation and supply chain management. CEO Satya Nadella emphasized that these autonomous agents can operate independently within the Microsoft 365 environment while adhering to security and governance protocols. Mustafa Suleyman, leading the project, highlighted the goal of creating an AI companion that understands user context and acts on their behalf in daily tasks. The rollout includes 10 new agents within Dynamics 365, designed to improve efficiency in sales and customer service. This initiative aligns with Microsoft's strategy to monetize its AI investments and simplify complex business operations.
