Michigan Women’s Volleyball Sweep Virginia, Wolverines Smash Central Michigan 63-3
The Michigan Wolverines football team rebounded strongly from a loss to Oklahoma with a dominant 63-3 victory over Central Michigan, led by freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood who passed for 235 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 114 yards and two more scores. Underwood's performance marked the most rushing yards by a Michigan quarterback since 2013, and he completed 16 of 25 passes before being rested in the fourth quarter. Despite missing head coach Sherrone Moore due to an NCAA suspension, associate head coach Biff Poggi effectively led the team, which amassed 616 yards of total offense, including 381 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. Senior linebacker Jaishawn Barham also made a significant impact with six tackles and two sacks before leaving with an injury. Michigan's offense showed balanced production with key contributions from running backs Jordan Marshall and Justice Haynes, who scored multiple touchdowns and improved their efficiency. The Wolverines demonstrated resilience and depth, overcoming recent setbacks and injuries to deliver a convincing win as they prepare for their upcoming Big Ten opener.
