Akshay Kumar Biopic on C Sankaran Nair Set for Release

Dharma Productions has announced an untitled film featuring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, centered on the life of Indian barrister C Sankaran Nair, set to release on March 14, 2025. The film, directed by debutant Karan Singh Tyagi, is based on the book 'The Case That Shook The Empire' by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, which details Nair's legal battle against the British Empire following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The narrative captures the courtroom drama and highlights Nair's significant efforts to confront British atrocities. Kumar will portray a senior lawyer guiding Panday's character, a budding lawyer, in a mentor-protege dynamic. The production has completed major shooting locations in Delhi and Haryana, with anticipation building around the film's historical significance. Karan Johar emphasized the importance of Nair's struggle in igniting the freedom movement in India.
