Valentine's Day Initiatives Spread Love to Seniors

Across the United States, Valentine's Day was celebrated with heartwarming initiatives aimed at spreading love to those who might feel isolated. At Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville, over 3,500 Valentine's cards and stuffed animals were delivered to patients, raising over $2,000 for the hospital foundation. Similar acts of kindness occurred at Watkins Logan State Veterans Home in Texas, which received more than 10,000 Valentine's cards from around the country, and at St. Catherine Commons in Kenosha, where over a thousand handmade cards were distributed to seniors. In the Tennessee Valley, seniors received roses and socks as part of a community effort, while in Idaho, students from Inspire Connections Academy crafted cards for nursing home residents. These efforts highlight a shared goal of addressing senior loneliness and fostering intergenerational connections on Valentine's Day.
