Prime Video unveils first look at We Were Liars series, premieres June 18, 2025

Prime Video has released first-look images for 'We Were Liars,' an eight-episode mystery thriller series based on E. Lockhart's bestselling young adult novel, set to premiere globally on June 18, 2025. The story follows Cadence Sinclair Eastman and her close-knit circle, the Liars, as they navigate a summer on their family's private New England island, where a mysterious accident leaves everyone with secrets. The adaptation, which stars Emily Alyn Lind, Shubham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor, and Joseph Zada, also features Mamie Gummer, Caitlin FitzGerald, Candice King, Rahul Kohli, and David Morse in supporting roles. After previous failed attempts at adaptation—including a stalled film project and a Netflix deal—the rights ultimately landed with Amazon, who enlisted Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie as co-showrunners with the active involvement of Lockhart herself.
