Veer Nath Pandey, recently released on bail for kidnapping, has been arrested again for allegedly abducting and repeatedly raping the same 17-year-old girl. The incident occurred on August 5, 2024, shortly after his release; he reportedly held the victim captive for a month. Initially, the girl's father filed a complaint in May 2024, leading to Pandey's previous imprisonment. Inspector Manoj Kumar stated that the girl was abducted while going to defecate and was only released on September 2, when she approached the police to report the abuse. An FIR has been filed against Pandey under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act, with medical examinations confirming the rape. Pandey was apprehended on Monday, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
