A 24-year-old woman from Pleasant Hill died after jumping out of a moving vehicle on Interstate 580 in Livermore and being struck by multiple cars on Saturday night. The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. when she exited a black 2018 Audi, which briefly stopped on the shoulder before the driver fled the scene and later reported the incident after reaching Tracy. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating the circumstances surrounding her exit from the vehicle and has arrested the driver on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and CHP is seeking witnesses to provide additional information. The accident caused significant traffic delays on the freeway for hours as authorities conducted their investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the CHP's Dublin office.
