Kansas City Chiefs Fan Sentenced 32 Years Prison For Multi-State Bank Robberies
Xavier Babudar, known as "ChiefsAholic," a Kansas City Chiefs superfan famous for attending games in a wolf costume, has been sentenced to a total of 32 years in prison for a series of armed bank robberies across multiple states. Babudar was originally sentenced to 17.5 years in federal prison for committing 11 bank robberies in seven states, stealing over $800,000, and laundering money through casinos and online gambling. In addition to the federal sentence, he received a 32-year state prison sentence in Oklahoma for a December 2022 armed robbery at the Tulsa Teachers Federal Credit Union, where he threatened bank tellers with a BB gun and stole $150,000. After cutting off his GPS monitoring device, Babudar fled but was later apprehended by the FBI in California. The state sentence will be served after the federal term, totaling 14.5 additional years, reflecting the district attorney's push for a harsher penalty due to the severity of his crimes and their impact on victims. Babudar's defense highlighted his troubled background and gambling addiction, while the court ordered restitution to victims and the forfeiture of a signed Chiefs memorabilia item.
