Giuseppe Tornatore to Visit Mumbai Film Festival

Oscar-winning director Giuseppe Tornatore will visit India for the first time to present a 4K restoration of his acclaimed film 'Cinema Paradiso' at the 'Cinema Italian Style - Celebrating Tornatore and the Masters Of Italian Cinema' festival in Mumbai, scheduled for September 27-29, 2024. The festival, organized by the Film Heritage Foundation in partnership with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Mumbai, aims to celebrate Italian cinematic heritage and will feature restored classics from legendary directors. Tornatore will also present the FHF Lifetime Achievement Award for Cinema Projection, conduct a masterclass for aspiring filmmakers, and engage in a fireside chat with film enthusiasts. The festival will showcase a mini retrospective of Tornatore's work, including 'Malèna' and 'The Best Offer,' alongside films from other Italian masters like Vittorio de Sica and Federico Fellini. Tornatore expressed his excitement about the event, highlighting the significance of India's film heritage and his own films being celebrated alongside those of great Italian directors.
