David Tennant stars in ITV drama 'The Hack'

ITV has announced its new seven-part drama, The Hack, featuring David Tennant as investigative journalist Nick Davies, who uncovered the phone hacking scandal at News of the World. The series, set between 2002 and 2012, interweaves Davies' investigation with the unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan, portrayed by Robert Carlyle. Written by award-winning screenwriter Jack Thorne and directed by BAFTA-winning Lewis Arnold, the show also stars Toby Jones as former Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger, alongside a notable cast including Rose Leslie and Dougray Scott. The production team behind the acclaimed Mr Bates vs The Post Office is involved in this project, which is currently in post-production. Thorne emphasized the importance of telling this 'strange and deceptive piece of recent history,' particularly in a time when the truth feels increasingly endangered. The series has generated interest for its timely subject matter and star-studded cast.
