Police used pepper spray to subdue Alexeyev, who was charged with public intoxication and later released from Arlington County jail. The incident occurred near Big Tony’s Pizzeria, with a witness reporting the fight to police before officers arrived. Alexeyev, 25, played sparingly during the regular season but was active in the Capitals’ recent playoff run, including returning from an injury where he lost several teeth after a high stick.
