A 60-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the deaths of three residents at Gainsborough Care Home in Swanage, Dorset. The incident, which occurred on October 23, resulted in seven residents being hospitalized and the evacuation of the care home due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning, although this has not yet been confirmed. Detective Chief Inspector Neil Third expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized the importance of avoiding speculation as the investigation continues. Dorset Police, along with the Health and Safety Executive, are conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Local authorities are collaborating to support affected residents, who were temporarily relocated to a church hall. The care home, operated by Agincare, stated that the welfare of its residents remains a top priority and they are working to return them safely.
