Mitchell Fumble Sparks Rams' 27-20 Rally
At SoFi Stadium the Los Angeles Rams rallied to beat the Indianapolis Colts 27-20, fueled by Matthew Stafford's 375 yards and three touchdowns and Puka Nacua's 13 catches for 170 yards. The decisive swing came in the third quarter when Colts receiver Adonai Mitchell bobbled a contested 75–76-yard catch at the 1 and fumbled out the back of the end zone for a touchback, erasing a potential go‑ahead score. Mitchell also drew a holding penalty that nullified a 53-yard Jonathan Taylor touchdown, and he finished with three catches for 96 yards; coaches and teammates called the mistakes a “bump in the road” and expressed continued faith in him. Indianapolis additionally suffered late defensive breakdowns — including alignment and personnel errors on the Rams' 88-yard go-ahead TD — and a late interception that sealed the game, turning what felt like a winnable contest into their first loss. The Colts fall to 3-1, will face the Las Vegas Raiders next, and the team reiterated its emphasis on finishing plays and “letters and logos.”
