Florida Man Arrested for Stalking Woman Using AirPods as Tracking Device

Luis Eduardo Rendon, 28, was arrested in Winter Springs, Florida, for stalking and invasion of privacy after a woman discovered Apple AirPods taped to the underside of her car, which he used to track her location. Rendon repeatedly harassed the woman through calls and messages from blocked or private numbers, including sending payment requests via Zelle with messages in the memo box. The victim reported that Rendon got a job at her workplace to be near her and even pulled a fire alarm at her apartment to try to force her outside. Police confirmed Rendon admitted to stalking the woman and using the AirPods as a tracking device because he wanted to monitor her movements. The woman had been in fear for her life due to the escalating behavior, which included Rendon sending threatening messages claiming to know her whereabouts and who she was with. Rendon faces charges of aggravated stalking with a credible threat and invasion of privacy by installing or using a tracking device without consent.
