San Rafael Man Arrested for Assault and Kidnapping

David Jonathan Margoliash, a 48-year-old San Rafael resident with a history of violent crimes, was arrested after a series of criminal acts, including a home invasion and attempted kidnapping. At approximately 1:12 a.m., Margoliash allegedly broke into a home on Ross Street, where he attacked a pregnant woman with a flashlight and bit her husband during a struggle. The couple was treated for injuries at a local hospital, and Margoliash fled the scene. Later that morning, he allegedly attempted to kidnap an elderly patient from a skilled nursing facility by posing as a transport service employee, but was apprehended by police after staff challenged his credentials. He is being held without bail at Marin County Jail on charges of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and attempted kidnapping. Margoliash's arrest was facilitated by coordination between local police and additional law enforcement units.
