Nextdoor has launched a major redesign featuring three core elements: Alerts, which deliver real-time, hyperlocal emergency notifications through partnerships with Samdesk and The Weather Company; News, which integrates content from 3,500 local publications in the US, UK, and Canada; and Faves, an AI-powered feature that recommends local businesses and spots using 15 years of user-generated data. The update introduces a contemporary look and enables local public agencies to broadcast urgent messages directly to users. CEO Nirav Tolia described the overhaul as a recommitment to building stronger, safer, and more connected communities, moving the platform beyond its reputation for disputes and controversy. The redesign aims to reverse declining user engagement and establish Nextdoor as a reliable hub for timely, trustworthy neighborhood information.
