Multiple Shootings Reported in Chicago and Mesa

A drive-by shooting in Chicago's East Garfield Park late Friday night left two men hospitalized, including one in critical condition, while an earlier West Side incident saw four people, including a teen, shot. Police do not believe the two Chicago shootings are connected and are investigating both cases. In Mesa, Arizona, Scott McCracken and Norberto Ruiz, both 37, died after exchanging gunfire near Broadway and Gilbert roads just before midnight Tuesday. Authorities determined McCracken fired first at Ruiz, who returned fire, with both men later dying at the hospital. The Mesa shooting is not believed to be random, and no other suspects are involved. Both cities experienced temporary road closures and heightened police activity, with ongoing investigations and no additional injuries reported.
