JPMorgan Expands Marianne Lake's Leadership Role

JPMorgan Chase has promoted Marianne Lake, currently head of consumer and community banking, to also oversee its strategic growth office and international consumer banking business, following the departure of Sanoke Viswanathan, who will become CEO of FactSet. The management reshuffle further elevates Lake as a leading contender to succeed CEO Jamie Dimon, though other potential successors include Doug Petno, Troy Rohrbaugh, and Mary Erdoes. Lake’s expanded role includes managing JPMorgan’s growing overseas consumer banking arm, particularly in the UK and Europe, where the bank has seen significant customer growth. The bank’s international consumer operations remain a small portion of total deposits but signal a strategic commitment to global growth. An internal memo highlighted Viswanathan’s important contributions to the bank’s international and digital banking initiatives. Dimon reiterated his retirement is still several years away despite ongoing speculation about succession.
