NYPD Shoots Armed Suspect in Flatbush Shootout, Hunts Second Gunman
NYPD officers in Flatbush, Brooklyn, responded to a shootout between two armed men near Ocean and Church avenues, resulting in them firing at and wounding 22-year-old Edynesson Bauduy, who was taken to Kings County Hospital and is now in stable condition. Bauduy, described by police as a two-time convicted violent felon on parole until 2030, has a criminal record dating back to his arrest at age 18 for a shooting and a recent conviction for violent commercial robbery. Officers recovered a 9mm handgun and multiple shell casings at the scene, while the second suspect involved in the gunfight remains at large. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, with officers bravely confronting the dangerous situation, and body-worn camera footage of the event is under investigation. Authorities continue their search for the second suspect and have asked the public to submit tips to assist in the investigation. No charges have been publicly disclosed against Bauduy related to this specific incident as of now.
