Thom Yorke to Adapt Hamlet with Radiohead Music

Thom Yorke is set to adapt Radiohead's album 'Hail to the Thief' into a theatrical production titled 'Hamlet Hail to the Thief,' which will premiere in Manchester from April 27 to May 18, 2025, before moving to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The adaptation, co-directed by Steven Hoggett and Christine Jones, will feature a cast of 20 musicians and actors and reimagine Elsinore as a surveillance state, exploring themes of deception and paranoia. Yorke described the project as an 'interesting and intimidating challenge,' focusing on how the album's music interacts with Shakespeare's text. The production promises to reveal the internal rage and despair present in both the play and the album, with songs from 'Hail to the Thief' illuminating the narrative.
