LSU Rallies to Win SEC Opener 36-33

In a dramatic contest, No. 16 LSU rallied to defeat South Carolina 36-33 after trailing for most of the game. South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers set a record with a 75-yard touchdown run but left the game before halftime with an ankle injury. Arkansas transfer Raheim Sanders added a 66-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. LSU's Garrett Nussmeier threw for 285 yards and two touchdowns, and Josh Williams scored the game-winning 2-yard touchdown run with just over a minute remaining. South Carolina had a last-second chance to tie, but kicker Alex Herrera missed a field goal. Despite the loss, South Carolina's women's basketball coach Dawn Staley and her team participated in the pre-game festivities and led the crowd in chants.
