Panthers Sign Bobby Brown III, Target Jonathan Allen
The Carolina Panthers have signed defensive tackle Bobby Brown III, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, to bolster their defense which struggled against the run last season. Brown, a 2021 fourth-round pick from Texas A&M, had a career year in 2024 and is known for being a strong run defender, a necessary addition for the Panthers who allowed the most yards per carry in the NFL in 2024. The Panthers have also added safety Tre'von Moehrig and defensive end Pat Jones as part of their defensive upgrades. In another potential move, the Panthers are considering pursuing veteran safety Tyrann Mathieu if the New Orleans Saints release him due to salary cap issues. Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders have released two-time Pro-Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, who is now a top free-agent target. These strategic signings and potential acquisitions aim to enhance the Panthers' defensive lineup for the upcoming season.
