Canada Invests $11 Million in Clean Fuels

The Canadian government has announced over CAD$11 million in funding to advance clean fuels technologies and alternative energy sources, aiming to position the country as a leader in the shift to a net-zero future. Of this amount, CAD$5.5 million is allocated through the Energy Innovation Program (EIP) to various projects, including a sustainable diesel fuel facility and biomass processing initiatives. These investments are designed to lower carbon emissions in high-emitting sectors, support Canadian energy supply chains, and create jobs. Minister of Energy Jonathan Wilkinson emphasized that Canada possesses the necessary resources and skilled workforce to become an energy superpower amidst global efforts for lower emissions. This funding reflects the government's commitment to sustainable economic growth and the development of key sectors like aviation and shipping. Additional projects will explore hydrogen production and renewable diesel from wood waste, further diversifying Canada's energy portfolio.
