Miami Dolphins Sign Former Raiders CB Jack Jones After Burns ACL Injury

The Miami Dolphins have signed free agent cornerback Jack Jones following Artie Burns' season-ending ACL injury, aiming to strengthen their secondary ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Jones, a former fourth-round pick by the Patriots in 2022, was released mid-2023 due to multiple rules violations and subsequently played for the Las Vegas Raiders, where he set career highs in tackles, passes defensed, and interceptions in 2024. Miami waived cornerback Ryan Cooper Jr. to make roster space for Jones, who will compete for a starting role amid the team’s recent departures of key cornerbacks like Jalen Ramsey and Kendall Fuller. Despite being released by the Raiders in April after unsuccessful trade attempts, Jones brings valuable experience with seven interceptions over three NFL seasons. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel remains optimistic about the team's cornerback depth, including young talents such as Cam Smith and Storm Duck.
