18-Year-Old Arrested After Juvenile Shot in Head Valley Station
Louisville Metro Police arrested 18-year-old Jamal Sheikh in connection with a shooting that critically injured a 17-year-old boy, Laith Rajha, in Valley Station. The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. on May 6 at an apartment complex on Bold Forbes Boulevard, where officers found the juvenile with a gunshot wound to the head; he later died from his injuries. Sheikh admitted to driving the vehicle used in the shooting and transporting three other individuals to the location for a "gun transaction." Police identified Sheikh through video evidence showing a vehicle with a unique decal leaving the scene, which he later tried to remove to avoid detection. Sheikh faces charges of first-degree complicity assault and tampering with physical evidence and is scheduled for arraignment. The Louisville Metro Police Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and is requesting public assistance for any information related to the case.
