Tigers Place Two Relievers on Injured List

The Detroit Tigers have placed relievers John Brebbia (right triceps strain) and Beau Brieske (right ankle inflammation) on the injured list on consecutive days. Brebbia, who allowed just one earned run over nine innings, will be sidelined for at least 15 days. Brieske aggravated a recurring ankle issue and has begun a rehabilitation program after a cortisone injection. To fill the roster spots, the Tigers called up Bailey Horn, recently reacquired despite a 6.48 ERA in Triple-A, and recalled Brenan Hanifee from Toledo. Centerfielder Parker Meadows, on the 60-day IL with a bicep nerve injury, has been cleared to start a throwing program. The Tigers are monitoring recovery timelines as they adjust their bullpen.
