Pueblo, Colorado Springs Airports Launch New Direct Flights

Colorado's air travel options are expanding significantly, with Pueblo Memorial Airport launching 12 weekly flights to Denver International Airport starting May 1, aiming to boost business and tourism in Pueblo. Denver International Airport will add a new budget nonstop route to Mexico City via Viva Aerobus in November, offering competitive fares though additional fees apply for baggage and seat selection. In a major milestone, Colorado Springs Airport (COS) will begin its first international flight on June 7, a seasonal nonstop to Cancun operated by Southwest Airlines, made possible by a new federally funded $8.4 million Federal Inspection Station (FIS) that enhances customs processing. The FIS facility, with a capacity of 200 people per hour, positions COS for future international growth, with airport officials aiming to add more flights soon. Local leaders emphasize that these developments will support tourism, business, and family connectivity while signaling Colorado Springs' intent to become a more prominent travel hub.
