Walking Dead Actor David Morrissey Banned Driving Six Months London Speeding

David Morrissey, the 61-year-old actor known for roles in The Walking Dead and State of Play, has been banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding three times within a week in London. He was driving his black Mini Countryman over the 40mph speed limit on August 2, 4, and 5, 2024, with recorded speeds of 46mph, 55mph, and 48mph in different 40mph zones. Morrissey already had nine points on his license and received nine additional points for these offenses, triggering an automatic driving ban. He was fined £5,700, which includes £1,500 in court costs, a sum the judge deemed reasonable despite the defense's objections regarding the trial's short duration. Morrissey did not attend the sentencing hearing and had denied the charges but was found guilty following a three-hour trial. The judge criticized Morrissey's approach to the case, stating it was illegitimate and that he had missed the opportunity to give evidence in court.
