Madison Sued Over 193 Uncounted Ballots

Law Forward, a progressive law firm, has filed a class-action lawsuit against the City of Madison and Dane County over 193 absentee ballots that were not counted in the 2024 presidential election. These ballots, found in sealed courier bags, were not included in the final vote tally, though they would not have changed the election results. The lawsuit, representing disenfranchised voters, particularly emphasizes the impact on first-time voters, including many from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Law Forward is seeking $175,000 in damages for each affected voter, surpassing the typical $50,000 cap on municipal claims.
