Luxembourg U21 Bus Crash Injures Five, France Game Postponed
The Luxembourg under-21 football team was involved in a bus accident in western France while traveling to a Euro 2027 qualifier against France, leading to the postponement of the match. The bus driver reportedly fell ill and the vehicle ended up in a ditch near Languidic, resulting in minor injuries to four players, three staff members, and the driver. All injured individuals were hospitalized but have since been discharged after treatment. The French Football Federation expressed support and wished a speedy recovery for those affected. UEFA, in coordination with both football federations, rescheduled the match to October 3, 2026, with the venue yet to be determined. The bus driver had a clean record with recent medical tests and vehicle inspections reported as normal.
