The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched an investigation into KCBS 740 AM, a radio station in San Francisco backed by billionaire George Soros, for allegedly broadcasting live locations of undercover ICE agents involved in deportation operations. This inquiry follows reports that the station revealed details about the agents' vehicles, potentially putting them at risk, especially as they operated in an area known for violent gang activity. The FCC's Enforcement Bureau has sent a formal Letter of Inquiry to determine if the station violated its license obligations to operate in the public interest. Commissioner Brendan Carr emphasized the need to protect the safety of law enforcement personnel and hold broadcasters accountable for such broadcasts. Soros's backing of over 200 Audacy radio stations has raised concerns about potential propaganda and influence over media narratives.
