McAlpin Industries, a Rochester-based sheet metal manufacturer founded in 1964, is undertaking a $23 million expansion to build a 300,000-square-foot facility on Hard Road in Webster, New York. The new site will support light manufacturing operations including laser cutting, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly, and is expected to be operational by late 2026. This expansion is projected to create up to 52 new jobs and is supported by up to $1 million in tax credits from Empire State Development through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program, with additional assistance from Monroe County and Greater Rochester Enterprise. Company President and CEO Matt McAlpin emphasized that the project represents a long-term investment in the community, enhancing capabilities and capacity to better serve sectors such as telecommunications, medical, transportation, and office equipment. Local officials highlighted the importance of this development for regional economic growth and advanced manufacturing in the Finger Lakes area.
