Love in Vietnam Secures 10,000 Screens in China Ahead of India Release

The Bollywood romantic drama Love in Vietnam, directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi, is making cinematic history as the first Indian film to secure a massive 10,000-screen theatrical release in China prior to its domestic premiere in India. The film, a cross-cultural production between India and Vietnam, is set to release in India on September 12, 2025, and in China during Christmas 2025, with distribution rights acquired by Chinese production giant Shanghai YC Media and Film. Inspired by the classic 1943 novel Madonna in a Fur Coat, Love in Vietnam explores themes of love and friendship, featuring a cast led by Shantanu Maheshwari, Avneet Kaur, and Vietnamese actress Kha Ngan, alongside veteran actors such as Farida Jalal and Raj Babbar. Director Kazmi expressed pride in this milestone, highlighting the emotional depth and universal appeal of the film, which was officially announced at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Zee Studios and multiple production partners back the project, emphasizing the film's ability to transcend cultural boundaries and resonate across countries and continents. Shanghai YC Media and Film noted the film's strong emotional impact and the significance of this first successful Vietnam-India film collaboration for the China market.
